WAILUA — A school bus was involved in a traffic collision Friday morning in Wailua while transporting students.
At 7 a.m., a Lexus sedan, operated by a 49-year-old Kapaa woman, was heading east on Kuamoo Road, when it apparently rear-ended a school bus. The bus was occupied by 12 students at the time of the incident.
None of the occupants sustained visible injuries, but five students were transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation and have since been released.
The driver of the school bus, a 38-year-old Lihue man, did not report any injuries.
The Lexus sustained major front-end damage while the bus had minor damage to its rear bumper.
The crash did not result in any road closures.
