LIHUE — Stacie Chiba-Miguel of Kukui Grove Center was looking over the area where the Kauai Police Activities League will hold its free Friday Night Boxing Showcase on Oct. 28.
“This is going to be real busy,” Chiba-Miguel said. “The Haunted House will be open, and the last time we hosted the boxing showcase, there were a lot of people who came to enjoy the event.”
Among the people who attended the event in April was a sergeant from the Honolulu Police Activities League who was impressed with the presentation and turnout from the public, said Kauai Police Department Lt. Mark Ozaki.
“He was surprised at how popular the event is,” Ozaki said. “He’s planning on bringing some Oahu boxers to have matches with our K-PAL boxers on Oct. 28.”
The event will be held in the Kukui Grove Exhibition area next to Deja Vu Surf Hawaii and will run from 5 to 9 p.m. This is is a free family event for all ages.
The Kauai Police Activities League, certified by the national PAL program, helps Kauai’s children by building character, self-discipline and healthy lifestyles by interacting in positive experiences through sporting activities.
