Happy Camper for Sept. 25, 2016

Chef Rafael Camarillo said Wednesday’s menu was not a typo — it was the one-year anniversary of Raf’s Kitchen lunchwagon being at the Kauai Veterans Center parking lot. He said he’ll be popping more anniversary specials this week, too … just gotta keep watching the menu.

Joe Grace said he celebrated his one-year anniversary at the parking lot in September, and didn’t realize it has been a year since he started serving lunch at the Kauai Veterans Center.

Kudos to Kaplan Bunce and the Kauai Powwow Council on hosting a great educational outreach! David Ahuna, a hoops dancer from Oahu, got to meet his cousin Dan Ahuna here, and Miss Warm Springs (Oregon) disappeared so quickly after her song (it was her birthday Friday).

Over at the Fall Roundup at Island School, it was nice to see Jeremy Harris (remember when he was mayor of Honolulu?) back home!

OK, time to get rolling to the West Kauai Club 100 Memorial service over at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery, and hopefully, Lorna Santos won’t have everything sold at the Lawai Cannery Self Storage garage sale benefiting the Kauai Robotics.
