The International Day of Peace celebration is scheduled 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Lydgate Park.
There will be food, music, dancing and information on sustainability and peace. The program will feature performances by the Joyful Noise taiko drummers led by Aki Conquest, an appearance by Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr., an open microphone for music and poetry, as well as crafts and activities for children.
It will conclude with prayers around the peace pole followed by the release of doves.
It is sponsored by the Interfaith Roundtable of Kauai. The event is free.
