Congratulations to Shereen Ho‘opi‘i who starts her new job Monday at the Queen Lili‘uokalani Children’s Center!
Shereen was at the football game (Noah Ho‘opi‘i and Dallas Albao were having great games), but Carol Manera Texeira (she must’ve been at the game, too) said Shereen was moving over to the QLCC during the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii (nice to meet Pono Chong who has a long title) event at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach where Mufi Hannemann of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Authority was visiting with Stephanie Iona.
Kudos to John Kruse, Dennis Chan and Marshall Mock on getting Namahoe in the water Saturday morning! Mike Faye had his crew out to make the final move to the Aloha Equipment crane where everyone watched as the heavy equipment moved the voyaging canoe to the water amid a symphony of pu and a gallery of spectators jamming the fence in the jetty wall parking area.
The public is invited to the blessing today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the beachwalk area fronting the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
