Need something to do on the North Shore?
Debbie Yanagihara is hosting her craft fair at the Church of the Pacific on Saturday from 8 a.m. This ties in nicely because the Friends of the Princeville Public Library is also hosting its book sale where keiki get to choose a title for free.
Cami Matsumoto said she’s going to miss the launch of Namahoe because she’ll be off-island this weekend. Cami was at the Kauai Conservation Expo (Pat Gegen was going to miss Olivia’s volleyball game, too), Wednesday at the McBryde Garden at the National Tropical Botanical Garden.
Kudos to Chipper Wichman and his NTBG ohana on hosting a great event (Sandy Poenhelt of The Right Slice — did you see the Seth Womble mural at the Kalaheo shop? — did a great job with the Ulu Corn Chowder pie)! This was a great opportunity to meet up with Lida Pigott Burney of the Makauwahi Cave Reserve (if you haven’t been there, you’re missing out). Reese Hassinger had the right idea — doing the deed, instead of just talking and listening.
OK, need a light dinner before the KIF volleyball game? Kevin Matsunaga and his Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class is hosting another street event, including keiki activities, entertainment, and even a few crafters Saturday from 5:30 p.m. — just look for all the food trucks at the CKMS drive-through.
