Pablo Tongco Laborte

Pablo Tongco Laborte, 80, of Lawai, Kauai passed away on Aug. 25, 2016, at Garden Island Healthcare Center.

Born on Dec. 19, 1935 in Aiea, Oahu he worked for Grove Farm Sugar Plantation and was a retired Tractor Driver at McBryde Sugar Co.

Preceded in death by his parents Nicolas and Cornelia Laborte, son Baltazar Laborte, brother Fransisco Laborte, sister Loreta Buligan & uncle Gregorio Tongco.

Survived by his wife Rafaela Laborte, (3) sons: Romulo (Rufina) Laborte, Antonio (Cherina) Laborte, James (Kristine) Laborte, (1) daughter: Argea (Andres) Yasay, (1) brother: Joel (Myrna) Laborte, (5) sisters: Grace Glovasa, Fely Gelbolingo, Certeria (Edgar) Vicoy, Quirina (Ursino) Pilongo and Solidad Ofamin, 12 grandchildren, Andrew Yasay, Anson Yasay, Arick Yasay, Aiden Yasay, Ryan Laborte, Niko Laborte, Cheylee Laborte, Khloe Laborte, Braden Laborte, Kylie Laborte, Cain Laborte & Chase Garcia.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery in Koloa.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Michael Murray, Dr. Jonathan Rosenthal, & the doctors and nurses at Kauai Hospice & the Garden Island Healthcare Center.

Fred ‘Freddy’ Miller Aki Jr.

Fred ‘Freddy Miller Aki Jr. of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Aug. 30, 2016 at the age of 55.

Born on Aug. 17, 1961 in Waimea, Kauai he was a professional musician for Smith’s Boat’s Tropical Paradise.

Preceded in death by: father, Fred Miller Aki Sr., paternal grandparents, Miller & MaryAnn Aki, maternal grandparents, Bennette & Annie Holt.

Survived by: wife, Traci Aki, son’s, Fred “Freddy Boy” (Suli) Aki, Clarence (Chelsey) Aki, Kaana Aki

Kealii Ak, daughter, Samantha Eaton, sister’s, Melissia (Joe) Sugai, Naylene Aki, brother’s, John (Taytum) Aki, Lono (Cliti) Aki, Jason Carvalho, 3 grandchildren, numerous Aunties & Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday Sept. 24, 2016 at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall

With visitation 8:30 a.m., service at 10 a.m.
