WHS Class of ‘52 presents scholarship

LIHUE — Waimea High School 2016 graduate, Sylvia Martin, received the WHS Class of ‘52 annual scholarship award of $2,000, which was presented Aug. 6 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Class of ‘52 members gathered at Pietro’s in Nawiliwili to meet Martin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Martin of Kalaheo. Martin was accepted into the Kauai Community College School of Nursing and has begun her studies toward attaining a registered nursing degree.

She is the sixth annual award recipient of this scholarship endowment that was established in 2010 with the Hawaii Community Foundation by members, family, friends and supporters of the Waimea High School Class of ‘52.
