Farm fair fun

More than 80 community businesses and organizations took advantage of the four days at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair which wrapped up Sunday at the Vidinha Stadium parking lot.

“I don’t know if I can handle this,” said Stephanie Shinno of the Garden Island Federal Credit Union. “I was here last night, and I’m back again to work. I need some time to recover.”

EK Fernandez Rides lit up the night skies, the sounds of entertainment, including Jordan Segundo and Greg Gabaylo filled the night, teased by the tantalizing aroma of food, including the malasadas based on Janice Wong’s recipe.

Louisa Wooton of Wooton Family Farm was thrilled her luau leaves earned Best in Show Vegetable honors along with the Polar Bear pumpkin by Pablo Valdez nailing the Best in Show Fruit honors.
