Teddy Alfred Daligdig Jr.
Teddy Alfred Daligdig Jr. passed away in Henderson, Nevada on Nov. 14, 2015, at the age of 90. He was born in Kealia, Kauai on July 5, 1925. Teddy was a Veteran of the United States Navy, WWII; former Kauai Fire Chief; Hawaii Army National Guard as a Captain, mechanic for Smiths & Waialeale Boat Tours and loved to play Senior Citizen Baseball with Kawaihau Senior Baseball team.
Preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Espin Daligdig.
Teddy is survived by his six children, Stella (Irvin) Kaui of Hilo, Theodore A. (Queenie) Daligdig III, Terry (Joyce) Daligdig, JoAnn Yim, Herbert Daligdig, Charlene (Lono) McGee, all of Kapaa; 30 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 21 great great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion in Hanapepe with services beginning at 10 a.m. Teddy will be united inurned together for all eternity with his wife Beatrice.
Ingrid G. De Boer Harbeck
Ingrid G. de Boer Harbeck of Kalaheo passed away on Aug. 8, 2016 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Sept. 22, 1933 in Berlin, Germany, she was an Anger Management counselor for the YWCA and subsequently formed her own organization, which she called Ho’oponopono, till her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Albert de Boer; son, Dennis Bolen of Rohnert, California; daughters, Linda Bolen of Tucson, Arizona and Lany Legrady of Portland, Oregon; step-daughters, Alma Koetje of Kekaha, Susan de Boer of Honolulu, Cathy Lord of Kalaheo, and Patricia Sawyer of Ada, Michigan; twelve grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
Memorial services will take place at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Sidney Yoji Nishiyama
Born May 5, 1946 and raised in Kekaha. Sidney passed away on Aug. 6, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington.
He is preceded in death by his sister Sherry-Ann.
He is survived by wife Carmelita, children Sheri-Ann, Ana-Lea, Kenneth, and Terry Nishiyama. Also, parents Cipriano and Sachie Otoman, brothers Michael (Marynel) Otoman, Gene (Elaine) Otoman, David Otoman, Joseph Otoman, sisters Judy (Guy) Fujita, Lisa (Robin) Murayama and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
There will be a celebration of life on September 3, 2016 at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha.
Visitation with family from 9 to 10 a.m. with service to follow at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.
Soei Oshiro
Soei Oshiro born April 22, 1933 in Lihue departed peacefully at his home in Hanamaulu on Aug. 10, 2016, at the age of 83. He was a retired truck driver for the Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Makaro & Kama Oshiro; brother, Isami Oshiro and sisters, Chiyoko Tokuda and Kathleen Glauner; great granddaughter Kayla Itamura.
He is survived by his daughters Barbara (Glenn) Itamura and Cindy (Michael) Mindoro; sons, Davis (Denise) Oshiro and Roy (Maxine) Oshiro; sisters, Fumiye Meadors and Marian Ikehara and brother, Gene (Yuriko) Oshiro; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia. Services will be held at 10 to 10:30 a.m. Casual attire suggested.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Oshiro family with arrangements.
Florentina Cadelina Acob
Florentina Cadelina Acob 95 years old, of Omao, Kauai passed away on August 17, 2016 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 21, 1921 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her parents Monico & Juana Cadelina, husband Felipe Acob, Sr., 2 sons Marcelino & Francisco Acob, and 2 daughters Florenda Domingo & Mariefe Acosta. Survived by her Sister: Rufina Eder, 4) Sons: Roberto Acob, Dominador (Marilyn) Acob, Felipe (Elsie) Acob, Jr., Ramon Acob, 6) Daughters: Cleotilde Vea, Anita (Benjamin) Corpuz, Fe Esposo Arecia (Peter) Lapuebla, Norma Acob & Cindy (Kenji) Marugame 35) Grandchildren, 54) great grandchildren & 11) great-great grandchildren
Friends may visit with the family on Friday Sept. 16, 2016 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 to 9 pm.
Again on Saturday Sept. 17, 2016 at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 9 to 10:45 am where mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial to follow at Lihue cemetery.
Tamotsu Hiraoka
Tamotsu Hiraoka was born on March 20, 1922 and passed away on Aug. 29, 2016. He was an army veteran with the Military Intelligence Services and the Branch Manager for Kauai Commercial.
He is survived by his wife, Kimie Hiraoka; brother, Mitsuyoshi (Dorothy) Hiraoka; sister, Koharu Kawamura; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date and the family requests no koden.
