Byong Sun Im
Byong Sun Im of Lihue passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on July 22, 2016, at the age of 90. He was born in Seoul, Korea on Aug. 29, 1925, and retired as an office clerk with Taisong Import and Export company.
Preceded in death by his wife, Tai Ja Lee.
He is survived by his daughter, Chung (Daniel) Iida of Lihue; three sons, Jin (Jae Bok An) Lim of San Jose, Eun Lim of Los Angeles, Kon (Eun Hee Mok) Im of Honolulu; 8 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Byong Kwan Im (Soon Im Bae) of Korea; sister, Akiko (Haruo) Kobayashi of Japan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Im family with arrangements.
James Hatsuji Masada
James Hatsuji Masada of Hanalei, passed away at the age of 88 on Aug. 7, 2016, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Feb. 4, 1928, in Lihue, he was a retired rancher with Gay and Robinson for 30+ years and a retired taro farmer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Watari Masada; daughter, Kristyne Inanod; brother, Harris Masada; and sisters, Beatrice Yoshida and Evelyn Honda.
James is survived by his son, Marvin (Geary) Masada of Kilauea; daughter, Beryl Maka of Hanalei; son-in-law, Julio Inanod of Kilauea; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one hanai grandson; sisters, Margaret Kunimura of Honolulu and Jane Fujii of Lancaster, California; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at the Waioli Hui’ia Church in Hanalei. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services following at 10:30 a.m.
Casual attire is requested and flowers are welcomed.

Eric Loy Dang
Eric Loy Dang of Lihue passed away peacefully at the age of 68 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland on July 20, 2016. Born on Oahu on July 5, 1948, he was a retired retail manager for F.W. Woolworth stores.
He is preceded in death by his father Raymond T. Dang.
Eric is survived by his wife Eldene Dang, mother Chin Hee Dang, brothers Raymond S.L (Audrey) Dang, Philip (Bevra) Dang, Steve (Deborah) Dang and sister Liane (Ken) Sloan, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the Lihue United Church in Pua Loke. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with service at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Family requests no flowers.
Alyson Ululani Lipston
Alyson Ululani Lipston passed away on Aug. 1, 2016, at the age of 49 at Contra Costa Medical Center in California.
She was born on June 1, 1967, and was a retirement counselor at the Carlton in Concord, CA.
She is survived by her husband, James Lipston of Concord, CA; father, Nelson (Marina) Silva of Hanamaulu, mother Mary-Alice (Rupert) Rowe of Kapaa, sisters Alicia (Fred) Dresser of Washington, Alexa (Matt) Kure of Washington, Niki Lyn Silva of Honokaa, nephew Kelsyn (Kat) Alejo, nieces Randi Kure ,Chrysandra (Tim) Darby, Tauren Kure, Jade Mach and Farrah Alejo all of Washington, best friend and caregiver Tracy Datuin of Concord and numerous uncles, aunties and cousins of Hawaii.
Celebration of her life will be held in Kapaa at a later date.
Pamela ‘Betsy’ Elizabeth Lemons
Pamela “Betsy” Elizabeth Lemons of Kapaa, formerly of Hanapepe passed away at home on Aug. 3, 2016, at the age of 57. She was born in Worthridge county of Los Angeles, California on Jan. 7, 1959, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Pamela is survived by her husband, Ted Lemons of Kapaa; three children, Liona Lemons of Kapaa, Ted (Shyne) Lemons of Kapaa, Telia Ferry; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at the Pavilion located behind the Hanapepe Football Stadium. Casual wear is suggested. Donations and flowers welcomed.

Soei Oshiro
Soei Oshiro born April 22, 1933, in Lihue departed peacefully at his home in Hanamaulu on Aug. 10, 2016, at the age of 83. He was a retired truck driver for the Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Makaro and Kama Oshiro; brother, Isami Oshiro and sisters, Chiyoko Tokuda and Kathleen Glauner; great granddaughter Kayla Itamura.
He is survived by his daughters Barbara (Glenn) Itamura and Cindy (Michael) Mindoro; sons, Davis (Denise) Oshiro and Roy (Maxine) Oshiro; sisters, Fumiye Meadors and Marian Ikehara and brother, Gene (Yuriko) Oshiro; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia. Services will be held at 10 to 10:30 a.m. Casual attire suggested.

Dalsay Layne Namolokama Keuma of Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on July 30, 2016 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. Born on Jan. 2, 1953 in Waimea, Kauai he was a laborer for Kauai Commercial Trucking Company.
Preceded in death by his father, John Keuma; mother Jennie Kahalekoma Keuma; brothers, Wilton and Daniel Keuma; Father-in-law, Edward C. Rita Sr.; brother-in-law Edward Rita Jr.

Ingrid G. de Boer Harbeck
Ingrid G. de Boer Harbeck of Kalaheo passed away on Aug. 8, 2016, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Sept. 22, 1933, in Berlin, Germany, she was an Anger Management counselor for the YWCA and subsequently formed her own organization, which she called Ho’oponopono, till her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Albert de Boer; son, Dennis Bolen of Rohnert, California; daughters, Linda Bolen of Tucson, Arizona and Lany Legrady of Portland, Oregon; step-daughters, Alma Koetje of Kekaha, Susan de Boer of Honolulu, Cathy Lord of Kalaheo, and Patricia Sawyer of Ada, Michigan; twelve grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
Memorial services will take place at a later date.

Kiyoshi ‘Kiyo’ Miyasato
Kiyoshi “Kiyo” Miyasato, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 8, 2016. He was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Kapaa, Hawaii, and resided in Las Vegas for the past 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughters, Della Miyasato and Julie Roumbanis; sister, Teruko Umetsu; brothers, Shigeru and Shinao Miyasato; grandchildren, Jillian and Preston Roumbanis; and many relatives and friends.
He was loved very much and will be greatly missed. No service is scheduled.
Diana Natsuko Oyakawa
Diana Natsuko Oyakawa of Lihue, Hawaii passed away at age of 71 on Aug. 10, 2016, in Lihue. Born on June 10, 1945, in Lihue, she was a school librarian at Elsie Wilcox Elementary School.
She is preceded in death by her father, Taketo Yokota; mother, Tsugiko Yokota; and brother, Stanley Yokota.
Diana is survived by her husband, Norman Oyakawa; son, Ray (Hiroko) Oyakawa of Honolulu; brothers, Wallace (Sally) Yokota of Honolulu and Kenneth (Joyce) Yokota of Honolulu; sister, Nancy Yamamoto of Lihue; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Diana’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Lihue Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. with services to follow at 4.
