Jenichi ‘Shige’ Shigematsu

Jenichi “Shige” Shigematsu of Koloa passed away on July 18, 2016. at the Garden Island Health Care at the age of 95.

Born on April 20, 1921 in Koloa, Kauai. he was a retired supervisor with Grove Farm and McBryde Sugar Plantation.

Preceded in death by parents, Zensaku and Shika (Hara) Shigematsu; wife, Patsy M. “Higa” Shigematsu; grandson, Keili Nigel Shigematsu.

Survived by sons, Dayne and Valerie (Pablo) Shigematsu, Mitchell and Terry “Miller” Shigematsu, Ryan and Wendy “Yoshishige” Shigematsu, Cleve and Gail “Makaneole” Shigematsu, Kent and Joni “Martin”: Shigematsu; daughters, Mona and Clay Yamauchi, June and Glenn Allianic; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel.

Visitation at 11 a.m. Service at noon p.m.

Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Richard Kamaile Cremer

Richard Kamaile Cremer passed away on July 10, 2016, at his home in Lihue at the age of 40.

He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher “Bradda” Cremer and his mother, Daphne K. Cremer.

Ricky is survived by his father, Reinhold Cremer Sr.; daughters, Alyssa Cremer-Arakaki (Russelle), Aiesha Cremer-Arakaki; sons, Richard Kanoa Cremer (April), Kanen Kainalu Cremer; sisters, Doreen Gomes (Glenn), Kanani Kawamura (Kela); brothers, David Cremer (Denise), Ronnie Cremer Jr. (Elmer), Shawn Cremer (Hale); grandsons, Jaden, Takeo; granddaughter, Braelynn; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ricky’s Celebration of Life and the scattering of his ashes will be held on August 14, 2016, at Kalapaki Beach Park at 12:30 p.m.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Isabel B. Corpuz

Isabel B. Corpuz, 88 years old of Nevada, passed away on July 19, 2016. She was born on September 4, 1927, in the Philippines.

Survived by Ola, Barbero Corpuz, Arucan families, numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Holy Cross Church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Aloha and casual attire.

Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Yoshino Ishii

Yoshino Ishii of Lihue passed away at the age of 90, on August 7, 2016, at Garden Isle Health Care. Born on May 11, 1926, in Koloa, Kauai, she was a house keeper.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hideaki Ishii and sons, Steve A. Ishii and Scott S. Ishii.

Yoshino is survived by her son, Patrick (Kathy) H. Ishii; daughter, Sheila (David) Hoota; five grandchildren; five great-grand- children; sister, Patricia (Vernon) Scribner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Katherine Pedro Camara

Katherine Pedro Camara of Kalaheo passed away at home on August 8, 2016, at the age of 87.

She was born on Oahu on September 5, 1928, and was a dedicated homemaker.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Pedro and Katherine Harvey, brothers, Albert Pedro and James Pedro; sister, Dorothy Lopez.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Ernest Camara of Kalaheo; four children, Sharon (Johnson) Villanida of Kalaheo, Anthony (Tracey) Camara of Hanapepe; Dorinda (Richard) Banasihan of Kalaheo, Yvette (Mark) Scribner of Kalaheo; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Sam) Moretz of North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Holy Cross Church with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Camara family with arrangements.
