LIHUE – County, state, federal and other emergency response partners are conducting joint exercises with the Hawaii National Guard’s 93rd Civil Support Team on Kauai this week.
The aim of the exercises is to ensure that Kauai’s first responders will be better prepared for natural and man-made events.
A full-scale exercise is scheduled at Kauai Community College from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
Officials are asking for the public’s cooperation by staying clear of any obvious or marked areas as well as exercise-related vehicles, equipment and personnel.
Agencies participating include the Kauai Civil Defense Agency, Kauai Fire Department, Kauai Police Department, Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and American Medical Response.
