Margaret Vidinha Remoaldo

Margaret Vidinha Remoaldo of Omao passed away on July 12, 2016 at the age of 91. Born Dec. 28, 1924 in Eleele, Kauai, she was the office manager of Island Rentals and later retired from the accounting department at Kauai Stores.

She was preceded in death by her husband David and son William “Billy” Remoaldo, parents Jacinth and Mary Vidinha, and brothers Edward “Eddie”, Lawrence and Ronald Vidinha.

She is survived by her daughters Susan Remoaldo of Eleele, Jennifer (Tony) Reis of Lawai and Mary (Ryan Cummings) Remoaldo of Kirkland, Washington; brother Robert Vidinha, of Bordentown, New Jersey, Steven Vidinha of Kaneohe and sister Eleanor Smart of Vancouver, Washington; grandchildren Tina Duarte of Henderson, Nevada and David (Jessica Vegas) Gusman of Omao; great- grandchildren Elias Castillo of Hanapepe, Chelsey Castillo of Henderson, Nevada, and Saige, Kane and Kade Gusman of Omao; and great-great-granddaughter Lyla Castillo of Henderson, Nevada.

Services will be held at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, with visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., eulogy at 10:45 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Kauai Veterans’ Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Casual attire. Flowers and lei welcomed.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary.

Cherise ‘Risee’ Pualeinani Fu Carvalho

Cherise “Risee” Pualeinani Fu Carvalho of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii passed June 30, 2016 at the age 37.

Born on April 8, 1979 in Lihue, Kauai she was a front desk clerk and night auditor at Courtyard Marriott.

Preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, Lono & Frances Fu, paternal grandfather, Ernest Carvalho III

Survived by: mother, Lynn Cherise Fu , Anahola, father, Rickey (Anna) Carvalho, Anahola, paternal grandmother, Alice Carvalho, companion, Richard Benedito, Anahola, daughter, Phoenix-Rhychelle, Benedito, Anahola, sister, Cherelle Fu Carvalho, Kapaa & numerous Aunties & Uncles, cousins, friends.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 30, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue. Visitation at 9 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Ronald James MacDonald

Ronald James MacDonald of Hanalei Bay passed away at Nawiliwili Bay on July 16, 2016, at the age of 65. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 21, 1951, and he was a Sailor, Musician, Carpenter and dreamer.

Preceded in death by beloved mother, Jewell; brother, Bill; hanai brothers, Fetta, Jumbo, Max and Calvin.

Ron is survived by his son, Somerfield; sister, Joanne (John) Wong, nephews, Jimmy and William; nieces, Kimberly and Mary Ann; companion, Yvette Larocca; and his beautiful Hawaiian Ohana.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Black Pot Beach in Hanalei beginning at 5 p.m. Music and laughter will be heard long into the night. We encourage all who attend to bring an instrument, a dish, a chair, a warm heart and a smile. May the songs sung Friday echo long in Ron’s remembrance.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the MacDonald family with arrangements.
