Haming S. Lardizabal passed away May 16, 2016, in Lawai at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 87.
She was the co-owner of Leilani Taxi and Tour Company with her late husband, Mauricio J. Lardizabal. Haming was born December 5, 1928 on Maui.
She is survived by six children, Scott Lardizabal, Gloria Reed, Fred (Carol) Tangalin, Yolanda, (Scott) Kurihara, Nena (Late William) Smith, Leroy Tangalin; daugther-in-law, Charlotte Kaai (Late Steven Tangalin); daugther-in-law, Karen Tangalin (Late Leonard Tangalin); six step-children, Maurice (Florence) Lardizabal, Jr., Alfred (Heidi) Lardizabal, Carmen Orpilla, Charlene Avita, Maureen (Zachary) Octavio and Glenn (Late Karen) Lardizabal; two sisters, Nina Martin, Catherine Madrid; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of New Life Memorial Service will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the Niumalu Pavilion on Niumalu Road. (Use Google Maps or GPS as there is no physical address, closest Landmark Kaiola Canoe Club. The pavilion is right before the canoe club.)
Family requests casual attire.
Dora Keapokuaokalani Kahaunaele Swain
Dora Keapokuaokalani Kahaunaele Swain passed away on July 17, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born in Kalihi, Oahu. A well-known musician and singer, she was often referred to as the “Songbird of Kauai” the place she calls home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Swain; parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Kahaunaele; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth “Kelly” Harbottle and Alapai Sperry, Joseph and Larry Kahaunaele.
Dora is survived by children, Captain Lani Swain, Dora Leilani Cobb-Adams, Enola Jo Kawelo, Mervlyn Kitashima, Wiliam “Billy” Swain, Philip Swain, Anna Velasco and Raymond Salazar; 31 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 28, at Kapaa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Services to follow at 11 a.m.
Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
