October 16, 1950 – July 4, 2016
Marcia Jean Bjornstad, a native of Northwest Iowa, died on July 4, 2016, on Kauai. She was the daughter of Harley and Dolores (Henderson) Bigger, was born Oct. 16, 1950, in Terril, Iowa. She was 65 years old.
Marcia graduated from Terril High School in 1968. She worked for numerous years at Berkley Fishing in Spirit Lake. She was married to Wally Bjornstad and they moved to Kalaheo, Kauai; shortly thereafter. Marcia worked in Kauai at Koloa Gardens and the Poipu Bay Golf Course.
Even with her small size Marcia was best known for her big laugh, wonderful golf game, and love for her friends and family. Marcia was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, loved to fish, and was more than gracious to beat you in a game of golf.
She is survived by her brother, Ron Bigger and his wife, Brad Bigger, Clint Bigger; Wally’s sons and daughters, Chris Bjornstad, Ned, Bjornstad, John Bjornstad, Fred Bjornstad, Margie Russell; step grandchildren, Jack Bjornstad, Emily Bjornstad, Joe Bjornstad, Nick Bjornstad, Tom Bjornstad; numerous grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends, and “Bobo” her loving cat.
A celebration will be held at 4 p.m., on Friday, July 15, at Pizzetta’s in Koloa. Services will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 17, boats will leave at 6 p.m. at Kukuiula Harbor in Poipu Bay. Family and friends are welcome to attend either.

John Philip Mooris will be laid to rest at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe at 3 p.m. on July 16, 2016.

Iris Haruko Shinseki
Iris Haruko Shinseki of Lihue, died June 24, 2016, at Samuel Mahelona Hospital on Kauai at the age of 79. She was born in Lihue and was a retired Aiea High School teacher.
She is survived by brothers, Richard H. Shinseki of Honolulu and Lloyd T. Shinseki of Lihue.
Private services were held in Honolulu at Hosoi Garden Mortuary and on Kauai. Family requests no monetary gifts.
