Syren Burley almost made it as a Mustang 9.
That didn’t stop him from joining his friends and players at the Hawaii Region Protect Our Nation’s Youth baseball tournament (kudos to Kalei Cardinez for all the information and help). Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. was still reeling from the Nick Rolovich experience with all the young football players, but still delivered his usual national anthem and state anthem before rushing off for the dedication of the Moanakai seawall project.
But he still had time to greet Mike Murakoshi who came out to watch some of the baseball, along with Teresa Morita who was in the stands waiting for Joshua Ibaan to take the field with the Kauai Bronco All Stars.
Congratulations to Wally Rezentes (he was at Na Koa’s Meet the Coach event, too) on being named the county’s Managing Director, effective July 1.
OK, time to go check out Coach Clarence Sales and all those basketball players at the Kauai Hoops Classic — championship games are all at Island School.
