Happy Camper for May 27, 2016

Pauline Ibia and Angel Madrid said there won’t be the charola at the Senior Softball kachikachi dance Saturday night at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Instead, the grand prize is a trip to Las Vegas, and tickets are the same whether you get them ahead of time or at the door.

OK, so where were Ernie Domingo and Ronnie Matsumura to add to that event?

It’s amazing how much news you pick up when you have to look for a burned out lightbulb at Walmart — OK, so now, who’s going to Las Vegas?

Chantal Zarbaugh was thrilled to learn that Spam musubi was “born” at the Kukui Grove Center, and Helaine Perel and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack are trying to figure out a Spam musubi event for The Shops at Kukuiula to honor Barbara Funamura. Anna Baudouin’s sister cannot believe that Spam musubi (Carol Manera Texeira likes it with some shoyu and teriyaki sauce!) is a Kauai thing!

Kudos to Serge Marcil on another great photo exhibit at the Piikoi Building by Kauai Community College photo students like Arielle Silva who loves to work with black-and-white. And, if it’s photos, you can’t keep Gary Ellwood away — how about a coffee hour to talk about HDR?
