Congratulations to all the Kauai Community College graduates who celebrated their special day Friday at Vidinha Stadium.
Sarah Tochiki (she’s got the All-Island Band appearing today at the historic County Building starting at 3 p.m.) was at the podium of the Kauai Community College string (ever see Nina Saraos play the violin?) group, and Greg Shepherd got in a plug for “Carnival” (the trio, including Beorn Chantara, Patricia Duh and Tracey Kuhaulua, were tremendous with the anthems) that opens this weekend (Averie Soto is looking for an interview with the media).
Congratulations to Ed Kawamura and his ohana on a great Power Equipment Expo! Liz Ronaldson came by to congratulate him on being named Kauai’s Outstanding Male Senior, and Glenn Alquiza and Darryl Gerardo (they both made it to graduation Friday night, too) got to bring the grounds crew over to check out the new battery-powered equipment which runs quieter than their gas-powered equivalents.
OK, time to go check out University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate Alden Alayvilla who is supposed to be playing in the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Golf tournament at the Poipu Bay Golf Course.
