Happy Camper for May 13, 2016

Elton Ushio said he needed to get a picture with Nick Rolovich for his dad as Kanani Fu used her cell phone for a quick photo with the coach during the Coach Rolo Day celebration coordinated by Mike Dahilig and Cyndi Ayonon.

It was a chicken-skin moment to see all the Kauai football greats, including Waimea athletic director Jon Kobayashi, Kauai athletic director Keli‘i Morgado who had Marissa Purcell with him, Michael Tresler, and more turn out to talk story with Coach Rolo.

OK, we’ll see him June 22 when he comes back with the UH football coaching staff for the free football clinic.

Ron Wood is getting excited about seeing Ed Kawamura (Eden Raquel wants to know what’s for lunch) at the M. Kawamura expo which opens Friday morning and continues through Saturday in Pua Loke.

Retired general Mary Kay Hertog said she’ll be working the Disabled American Veterans fundraising table (they’ve got their convention coming up in less than a month), and Ron said at least he doesn’t have to run away for a senior softball game.

OK, it’s time to go check out the Kauai Community College graduation, and there’s the Visitor Industry Charity Walk starting early Saturday at the Historic County Building!
