Chef Rafael Camarillo should be back after whipping up all the goodies for the Kauai Veterans Museum fundraiser. Chef Raf got help from Chef Rudy Madriaga (he’s still going strong at the Beach House Restaurant), and Chef Raf said they got to work with Alan Wong during the days when it was still the Stouffer’s Waiohai.
Nelson Batalion is jockeying between the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort, the new Hilton Garden Inn and Kauai Community College, stopping to catch his breath at the fundraiser, and Ed Kawamura didn’t have time to do that because he had to go back to the farm to move his truck which was blocking the arrival of a Matson container.
Melinda Uohara was running late (she still made it ahead of the guests), and kudos to all the organizers for putting together that great night of Starlighters’ music and Chef Raf food (did the roast pork run out?).
Kudos, too, to Jimmy Kim of Kauai Muscle and Fitness on a great powerlifting tournament Saturday at the All Saints’ Gym in Kapaa. Jimmy said this was the first for Kauai, and what a great turnout!
