Customers face power outage

LIHUE — Power will be shut off to about 450 customers from Wainiha to Haena from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday for additional repairs to a steel transmission tower.

On Feb. 26 crews replaced the cross-arm on the pole behind Hanalei School and found that another cross-arm needed to be replaced.

The outage will not affect Hanalei. Pending weather conditions, the work should be completed in five hours.

KIUC is contacting critical care customers in the area to ensure they are aware of the outage. Customers should unplug electronic equipment and any appliances that may be sensitive to power interruptions.
