Happy Camper for Feb. 24, 2016

Happy birthday to Laci Bodin of Alaska who celebrated her special day Tuesday! Laci was at the Ugly Aloha Shirt (no aloha shirts in Alaska) after being signed up by Leah Madison of Boston, Massachusetts (they met while Leah and Jim Madison were visiting Alaska).

Becky Komaki finally got through her tire problems so she could fire up the poi balls Sunday during the second day of the Hawaii Government Employees Association’s rummage sale benefiting its Relay for Life (American Cancer Society’s Patti Ornellas is still looking for more teams) team.

Shari Amimoto (no coach Alton at the Burns Intercollegiate golf) said Becky couldn’t make malasadas on Saturday because she was tied up at the Waimea Town Celebration and Becky didn’t know that Marlena Bunao had shut down the malasada booth in front of Kmart.

Kudos to Dale Shimomura who can whip up a great soup (Annie Rellin was enjoying some while making luminaria) using whatever’s left over at the HGEA office and Susan Honjiyo was waiting for more discounts before making her purchases.

There is still time for people to get in on the Relay for Life (it’s coming up April 23 and 24) fun — call Patti at 246-0695.
