PUHI — A school bus rear-ended a sedan on Kaumualii Highway near the Kauai Humane Society Tuesday morning. There were no injuries.
The bus was taking Waimea High School students to the natural resources field day at Kauai Community College about 9 a.m. when it was involved in a minor accident, according to a letter from vice principal Marilyn Asahi sent to parents.
School administration was notified, which confirmed students were safe and secure, the letter said.
It is unknown how many students were on the bus.
The bus sustained a scratch on the front bumper and the sedan had minor rear-end damage, said Derek Inoshita, a spokesman for the Department of Education.
The bus continued to KCC after Kauai police investigated the scene, the letter said.
An investigation continues. Information on whether the driver was cited was not available Wednesday.
