Kudos to Micki Evslin, Vicky Fennell and Natasha Biggart on the great job they’ve done with Kiko, a shop located in the back of Jim Saylor Jewelers in Kapaa.
John Kaohelaulii (they’ve got the new Sole Mates up and running very smoothly in the back of Ono Family Restaurant) said a lot of their Christmas gifts came from that shop, which used to be a garage behind the custom jewelry shop.
Micki said they’re still working on trying to improve the entrance (it was still a fine place for Damian Nash and Daniele Gaucher to meet and catch up with the holiday happenings).
Next door, Jeni Kaohelaulii of Work It Out was already busy with people shopping for the New Year’s, and even got a phone call asking about shoe recycling.
Kudos to Barbara Green of the Kauai Filipino Women’s Club and Charlmaine Bulosan of the Kauai Filipino Community Council on hosting a great Rizal Day ceremony where Dr. Antolin Apalla and his volunteers did a great job re-doing the Dr. Jose Rizal statue.
And mahalo to Ed Kawamura and his ohana on a great mochitsuki experience (Rep. Derek Kawakami even had his daughter Haley doing mochi before attending the Rizal Day ceremony).
