Leslie Kauilani Kaneholani
Leslie Kauilani Kaneholani of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii, was laid to rest on Nov. 1, 2015, at the age of 48 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 23, 1967, in Pahala, Hawaii. She was a housekeeper/maintenance for Hale Kupuna Heritage Home.
She was preceeded in death by her father, Larry K. Kaupu Sr.; sisters, Vivian Brown, Mary Kaupu, Karen Kaupu and Joann Kaupu; sons, Jeremiah Kaupu-Kaneholani and Joseph Kaneholani Jr.
She was survived by husband, Joseph Kaneholani; daughters, Jourdan(Josh) Kaupu-Kaneholani, Abcde (Kj) Kaupu-Kaneholani; sons, Kekai Kaupu-Kaneholani, Aukai Kaupu-Kaneholani; grandchildren, Joseph-Charles K Kaneholani-Soto, Jo’zaevaleh-Malia N Kaneholani-Soto of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii; mother, Mary-Mae K. Kaupu of Kealakekua; brothers, Larry (Dutchee) Kaupu Jr. of Mark Twain Estates, Mckinley (Michelle) Kaupu, Rudolph (Corine) Kaupu, both of Oceanview Estates; sisters, Stephanie (Kevin) Kaupu-Ceasar of Oceanview Estates, Cheryllynn Kaneholani of South Glenwood, Eleanor (Gerald) Kaupu-Fontes of Kealakehe, Brianne (Malia) Kaupu-Galon of Kailua Kona; hanai children, Kaia Powell-Santos, Maleah Powell- Santos, Breanne Brun, Kahuaina Makua, Kaulana Makua, Kiana Mahuka, Jersey Napohaku and Kailana Lopez; God daughters, Kyrie Kaneholani-Efhan of Colorado, Marlie Keliikuli of Lawai. She was also survived by numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Anahola Beach Park. A little service by Pastor Carl Faford, around 12:30 p.m. paina to follow. Another service will be held on the Big Island on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Ka’u ward. Services will be from 9 to 10 a.m., lunch to follow.
Cremation was done by Borthwick Mortuary.
Romeo Cristobal Juan
Romeo Cristobal Juan of Eleele Nani, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on Nov. 10, 2015, at Kauai Care Center at the age of 70. He was born on May 21, 1945, in Bungon, Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
He was employee of both Olokele and Gay and Robinson Sugar Companies in Kaumakani, Kauai where he held various positions from 1979 to 2008. Four years prior to retirement, he worked in the sugar mill as a sugar processor. His hobbies were cooking for his family, especially during family gatherings, playing cards, watching TV and reading.
Romeo was preceded in death by his parents, Catalino Juan and Gregoria Cristobal Juan; parents-in-law Lucas Molina and Ana Tejada Molina; granddaughter, Jayla Leeann Juan Celestino; sister, Dolores J. Narciso; brother, Elpido Juan; brothers-in-law, Silverio Maluyo, Pedro Narciso, Angelo Batin, Basilio Ballesteros, Arnulfo Molina and Marino Molina; sisters-in-law, Francisca Juan, Mercedes M. Cardenas and Caridad M. Ballesteros.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Molina Juan of Eleele, Kauai; daughters, Jocelyn Marie Juan (Jeffrey Celestino) and Joy (Juan) Montano; three grandchildren, Jessica Rae Celestino, Jaekob Tyler Celestino and Ilyana Romea Montano, all from Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Marciana J. Maluyo of Eleele, Kauai; three brothers, Arturo (Carmen) Juan, Quirino (Rosita) Juan, and Fermin Juan, all from the Philippines; sisters-in-law, Cresencia Batin and Rosita Molina of Kauai, Hawaii, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunties.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the St. Raphael’s Catholic Cemetery in Koloa.
Arrangements were made by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary, Koloa, Kauai.
Ernest ‘Ernie’ Joseph Dow
Ernest “Ernie” Joseph Dow of Kekaha passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 2, 2015, at the age of 81. He was born on Sept. 23, 1934, and raised in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, and lived in Victoria, British Columbia, where he was a printing pressman by trade before moving to Kauai, Hawaii, where he worked at Kauai Times and met his lovely wife.
Ernest was a beloved husband and companion of Pamela, his wife for 24 years. They owned and operated together the Waimea Canyon General Store for 19 years in Kekaha and enjoyed traveling and experiencing the world together.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Pamela (Kailikini); three children, Jim (Eileen) Dow, David (Jeanne) Dow, Judy (Frank) Cano and his precious three grandchildren, Jade Cano, Kalita Dow and Brad Cano. He is also survived by his sister, Dorene (Sid) Ballik of Ajax Ontario; brother, Don (Christine) Laundrie of Denbith, Ontario of Canada and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with services at 6 p.m.
The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcomed. Ernest was a very kind and loving husband, father and friend to all. He never turned down an opportunity to help anyone in need.

Ruby Brothers Maas
Ruby Brothers Maas for Kauai, Hawaii, passed away at the age of 89, on Nov. 19 2015, with her loving family by her bedside in Lihue, Hawaii.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in American Falls, Idaho. Ruby worked for many years as a Bookkeeper for Slusser Wholesale in Idaho Falls, Idaho, until she moved to Kauai in 1973, where she worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for Raymond E. Hoe Realtor, Inc. and Kahili Builders for 37 years.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Ben (Happy) Brothers and Emma Becker Brothers of Idaho Falls, Idaho; husband, Ray H Maas of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and grandson, Sean K Hoe, of Kapaa, Hawaii.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Maas Hoe, and beloved son-in-law Raymond of Lihue; sister, Violet J. Wesner of Hughson, Calif.; brother, Ben E. Brothers, (Nora Patricio) of Hanapepe, her granddaughters, Schylar PM Hoe Fredrick (Peter) of Tigard, Oregon and Chara T. Hoe (Nadine Naumu) of Lawai, Hawaii.
A memorial of her life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Robert Weiner and the Kauai Hospice Family.
Herbert Morris
Herbert Morris of Rochester, born in Kauai and graduated in the class of 1958, at Kauai High School, passed away on Nov. 29, 2015, at the age of 75.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel. Herbert is survived by his wife, Carol Morris; sibling, Frank Morris of California, Leonard Morris, Sylvia Martin, LaVerne Bessert, Melvin Roy Morris and Susan Lopez, all in Kauai; children, Herb (Robelyn) Morris, David Morris, Jennifer (Philip) Orr, Rebecca Morris, all in California and Thomas Morris in Rochester; two step-children; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Herb worked for Monroe Transportation for 8 years and worked for Adohr Farms and Knudsen Dairy previously. Herb was also a member of the National Guard.
Theodore Alfred Daligdig Jr.
Theodore Alfred Daligdig Jr. 90, passed away at his residence in Henderson, Nevada on Nov. 14, 2015, after a progressive battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Ted passed peacefully into the arms of God with loved ones by his side to a place where pain and suffering are washed away.
Born to Mary Furtado Daligdig and Teodoro Daligdig on July 5, 1925, Ted is survived by his wife Marlene Daligdig, 24/7 companion and caregiver, six children, Stella (Irving) Kaui, Theodore (Queenie) Daligdig III, Terry (Joyce) Daligdig, Beatrice Joann Yim, Herbert Daligdig, Charlene (Charles Lono) McGee, 30 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Ted is also survived by four step-children, Gerald (Ambrea) Ito Jr., Chantell Kaaihue, Raenell (Shane) Shimbukuro, Darnell Ito, seven step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that all loved their uncle Teddy. Ted was preceded in death by his first wife Beatrice Espin Daligdig.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at St. Catherine’s Church located at 5021 Kawaihai Road in Kapaa. Condolences commence at 9 a.m., Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Ashes will be placed to rest at a later date.
Eleanor Asayo Kakutani
Eleanor Asayo Kakutani born on Kauai, Hawaii, passed away at Wilcox on April 20, 2015, at the age of 96 and was a retired housekeeper and breakfast cook with the Waiohai hotel.
She is survived by her daughter, Gale H. Nakasone of Mililani; four grandchildren, Kelly C. Nakasone of Oahu, Lincoln Kakutani of Lawai, Colin Kakutani of Omao and Bari Kalaikai of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren, Kalen Kakutani and Jayanie Kakutani and sisters, Mitsuko Yamase of Pearl City and Lorna Harada of Pearl City.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Roy Iwao Morimoto
Roy Iwao Morimoto of Waimea passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 3, 2015, at the age of 70. Born on April 15, 1945, in Waimea, he was a laborer with the County of Kauai.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kazuyoshi Morimoto; mother, Harue Morimoto and brother, Alan Morimoto.
Roy was survived by his wife, Sharlene Morimoto; son, Kyle Morimoto of Waimea; daughter, Tisha (Bryson) Kurokawa of Waimea; two grandchildren, Kekai Morimoto and Rory Kurokawa; brothers, Robert (Florence) Morimoto of Honolulu, Jerry (Susan) Morimoto of Kekaha, Glenn (Cheryl) Morimoto of Kekaha; sisters, Janet (Keiji) Kukino of Honolulu and Leatrice Tanaka of Lihue and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with services at 5 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.

Joshua Kelii Shintani
A 32 Years old male of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on Nov. 25, 2015, at Straub Hospital in Oahu.
He was born on June 24, 1983, in Oahu, Hawaii. He was an actor
He is survived by his mother, Sandy Shintani; father, Henry Shintani; hanai father, James Shintani, four sisters, Shereen (Evan) Louis, Justine (CJoe) Shintani, Shalei Shintani, Shaela Shintani; one brother, Jeffery Shintani; hanai brother, Kalei (Jerry) Shintani; hanai sister, Lai (Nate) Kahokuloa and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Adriano ‘Andring’ Pascual
Adriano “Andring” Pascual of Lihue, Hawaii, passed away at Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Nov. 15, 2015, at the age of 74. Born on March 1, 1941, in Barit, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a service truck mechanic with Kekaha Sugar Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia J. Pascual; parents, David and Hilaria Pascual and brother Wilfred Pascual Sr.
Andring is survived by his son, Andrew (Beverly Canali) Pascual of Lihue, Hawaii; daughter, Apryle (Kenneth) Rosa of Lihue, Hawaii; hanai-daughters, Mary Loverne (Robert) Cabreros of Honolulu, Hawaii and Janet Marquez of the Philippines; two grandchildren, Khelcie Rosa and Aryanna Pascual; brother Crisente Pascual of Eleele, Hawaii and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Lihue Public Cemetery.

Radford Kawika Matias Hepa
Radford Kawika Matias Hepa of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away at the age of 29 in Anchorage, Alaska on Nov. 23, 2015. Born on March 16, 1986, in Lihue, Kauai, he worked in the oil industry with Kuukpik Drilling, LLC, in Alaska.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Manuel “Mac” Matias and paternal grandfather, Augustine Castaneda.
Kawika is survived by his son, Kymani Ikaika Hepa; daughter, Kamea O’Kama Aleja Hepa of Anchorage, Alaska; father, Roland K. (Taqulik) Hepa; mother, Valerie A. Matias; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Oliver Jr. of Hanapepe, Hawaii, Kamaka Q. Hepa and Keoni N. Hepa of Barrow, Alaska; sisters, Mallorie K. Hepa and Lynette K. Hepa of Barrow, Alaska, and Mariyah M. Oliver of Hanapepe, Hawaii; grandmother, Rosemary Leialoha Hepa-Millarich and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, for an evening prayer at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 6 p.m. The prayer will begin at 7 p.m.
A celebration of Kawika’s life will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m. and burial to follow at the Kapaa Public Cemetery.
