Frances Frazier
Frances Nelson Hali’aalohanokekupuna Frazier of Kauai passed away in Kapaa on Oct. 19, 2015, at the age of 101. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 6, 1914, and was a Hawaiian language translator.
Preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Frazier; son, Douglas Lewis Frazier; brothers, Richard Nelson II and Julian Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Frazier of Puhi; former daughter-in-law, Diane (Stanley) Araujo; three granddaughters, Cheryl (Dwayne) Kuilipule, Lisa (Rian) Matteus, Kristen (Mike) Frazier-Cheek all of Hawaii Island; five great-grandchildren; three nephews, Bill Nelson of California, Alan Nelson of Oahu and Richard Nelson III of the Hawaii Island.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Sun Village beginning at 3 p.m. Frances will be inurned in Homelani Memorial Park.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted Ms. Frazier with arrangements.
Ronald Olivenza Olea
Ronald Olivenza Olea of Lihue passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 25, 2015, at the age of 46. He was born in Guinayangan, Quezon, Philippines on Feb. 2, 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roberto Olea Sr. and Librada Olea; brother, Roberto Olea Jr., and sister Myrna Olea Galeon.
Ronald is survived by wife, Mary Jane Tacata Olea; daughter, Alyssa Olea; son, Ron Olea of Lihue; two brothers, Regelio (Marites) Olea, Rodelito Olea; four sisters, Merlyn (Abdon) Rivera, Merlita (Jesus) Salire, Marilou (Timiteo) Olea and Marichu Olea, all of the Philippines; numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Olea family with arrangements.
Linda Mae Koerte
Linda Mae Koerte, 63, of Hanamaulu, Hawaii entered Heaven’s gates on Oct. 15, 2015. She died at Straub Hospital in Oahu, Hawaii. She was born on July 16, 1952, in Lihue, Hawaii, to Mary Lopes and Jocintho Duque. She is survived by her husband Michael G. Koerte, they married on Feb. 17, 1979.
She is also survived by her daughter, Tina (Marilyn) Prem, 2 sons, Judd and Travis (Misty) Koerte of Kauai; three grandsons, Makana (Pohai), Kainalu (Leeana) Waipa, Trey Omura-Hernandez; six granddaughters, Moana (Gail) Waipa, Pualani, Sierra, Xailea, Bailey Koerte, Sarijah Sanchez, great-granddaughter Kailee Waipa of Kauai; two sisters, Mary Jane (Bernard) Simao, Diana (Darrel) Simao and two brothers, Larry (Sharon) Duque, Derek (Cindy) Reis of Kauai.
Linda was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephine Albayrrak, Andrea Freitas, Delores Shaffer and two brothers, Dennis and Jocintho Duque.
Linda graduated from Kauai High School in 1971 then moved on to become a licensed beautician. Linda worked as a beautician at the Coconut Market Place in Kapaa, Hawaii for many years.
She then took an early retirement to stay at home and care for her three children.
Linda was the true definition of Mrs. Aloha. She always brought smiles to the faces of everyone she came in contact with. She was a very giving, loving and caring woman who was certainly the heart of her family.
She will be missed by many.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Borthwick Mortuary in Koloa. The family request casual attire.
Evelyn Agcaoili Pascua
Evelyn Agcaoili Pascua of Puhi, Kauai passed away on Oct. 5, 2015, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 53. Evelyn was born on Nov. 30, 1961, on Kauai. She was raised in Camp 7, Eleele and graduated from Waimea High School; Class of 1979. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Manuel B. Agcaoili.
She is survived by her husband, Ludi Pascua, of Puhi, Kauai; two sons, Michael Agcaoili and Jordan Pascua, of Puhi, Kauai; two daughters, Cherish Pascua, of Washington State and Krystle Pascua, of Puhi, Kauai; mother, Erlinda Agcaoili of Puhi, Kauai; brother, Rey (Amy) Agcaoili and her nephews, Reyson, Reygan and Rey C. Agcaoili, of Lihue, Kauai; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel, in Koloa and again on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
