Jan and his wife Doreen happened to drive by Hanapepe Stadium and stopped in to catch some of the Kauai Pop Warner Football League football games, joining the throngs of family, relatives, and friends of football players and cheer squad members.
Three more games remain on the KPWFL calendar for the 2015 season. Gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday.
The KPWFL cheer squads host its islandwide competition Nov. 1 at the Clem Gomes Gym on the campus of Waimea High School when doors open at 11 a.m. Admission for this competition, which earns eligibility to compete at the National Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Competition in Orlando, Florida, is $8 for adults. Children between 5 and 13 years old, and seniors 65 years and older are $6. Children under 5 are free.
