Reynold “Rey” Ako, 87, of Kailua Kona, died October 15 at his residence. Born November 5, 1927 in Holualoa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, member of Hawaii Operating Engineers Local Union 3 and an Army veteran.
He is survived by daughters, Donna Sepulvida of Kailua Kona, Georgianna (Steve) Santana of Ocean View, Patricia Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada; sons Alan (Linda) Sepulvida of Monterey Park, California, Wayne Sepulvida of Ocean View; brother, Valentine (Noe) Ako of Kapaa, Kauai; sisters, Elizabeth Maluihi Lee of Kalaoa, Elaine Spencer, Emma Conjugacion of Honolulu, Jane Nunez of California; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, October 24 at Queen Liliuokalani Recreation Center. Service at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. For information call 990-3181.
