Report indicates dangers of pesticides

The new report, “Pesticides in Paradise: Hawaii’s Health and Environment at Risk,” specifies declines in health by Hawaii’s students. This may also reduce tourism, harming the economy.

For example, “DuPont-Pioneer applied 90 different pesticide formulations … on Kauai from 2007 to 2012.

The third-most frequently applied class of pesticides is also among the most toxic: organophosphate insecticides such as chlorpyrifos. 22 Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) … were applied in agriculture from 2010 to 2012. 81percent of RUP active ingredients … were applied to corn and 19 percent to coffee…

To quote, “In general, farmers, farm workers, pregnant women, and children are at greatest risk: … children are more susceptible to the harmful effects of pesticides than adults. The American Academy of Pediatrics recently published a major report entitled “Pesticide Exposure in Children:” pesticides are linked to childhood cancers, neurobehavioral and cognitive deficits, adverse birth outcomes, and asthma.

In adult populations, pesticide exposure has been linked to Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, bladder and colon cancers, Parkinson’s disease, depression, and disrupting our hormonal or endocrine systems.

Dr. James Raelson and his colleague Dr. Chatkupt, practicing pediatricians in Kauai, have noted an unusually high incidence of rare birth defects involving malformations of the heart in Kaua‘ over the past seven years, at roughly 10 times the national rate (Raelson 2013).”

The Trump factor

Why is Donald Trump doing so well in poll after poll?

It’s because the media is enamoured with his every move and broadcast his daily goings on. It seems like the media is addicted to Trump.

Which makes it so ironic when the media constantly asks, “why is he doing so well?”

Because publicity is publicity, good, bad or ugly, Trumps name is now a house-hold recognizable word.

Many are smitten with, captivated by, enchanted by, fascinated by, bewitched by, beguiled by Donald Trump. Does this mean people like Trump?

Many Americans including myself are sick of politicians. Trump is a business man, not a politician. Both major political parties are controlled by rich lobbyists. Donald Trump does not have to answer to anybody since he is not begging for campaign donations. He is controlled only by himself. He is financing his own campaign and refusing donations as of this writing. whereas all other politicians are controlled by their richest big business lobbyists that contribute millions to their election.

Trump wears his heart on his sleeve. He says what comes to mind, no filtering just a stream of consciousness

Whether you agree or disagree — American’s love reality TV, and this coming election has turned into the Donald Trump Show.

Survivor and the Kardashians move over, Trump may just be hired!
