KOLOA — County officials announced that guardrail and other safety improvements are being made to Koloa Road. The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of September.
Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Over the next six to seven weeks, there will be intermittent lane closures from Omao Road to about a half a mile west of Omao Road to allow excavation work to take place. Road widening and guardrail system installations in the same area will follow.
Thereafter, the scope of work will include the installation of pavement markings and milled rumble strips, and the replacement of signs along a 2.7-mile stretch of Koloa Road.
