KILAUEA — A $220,000 project to repair floorboards and areas damaged by a leaky roof at the Kilauea gymnasium is expected to get under way this month, according to Kauai County officials.
The project aims to reseal the gym’s roofs and doors, as well as install a canopy above the doorway on the front side of the building. Additionally, the floor will be replaced, refinished and restriped.
The contractor is Pacific Blue Construction, LLC.
In a county report last year, it was determined floor damage to the gym “was caused by the moisture that seeped from the walls and the rain that made its way through the doorway on the front of the building.”
The $224,050 contract includes materials, labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery and services.
