POIPU — Ella Kaohi and Robert Grance were double winners during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Poipu Bay Golf Course.
Kaohi was tied with Gwen Tsukayama in women’s play following 18 holes. A tie breaker gave the division to Tsukayama on a 76, and Kaohi in the runner-up spot at 77.
But Kaohi also shared in the winnings of the Corporate Challenge as a member of the Grand Hyatt Team No. 1 which finished at 271.4 to top the Corporate Challenge. Joining Kaohi on the winning team are Keith Butz, Al Garces and Kaela Wold.
Four strokes back, the Aulii Luau team posted a 275.2 behind play from Grance, Caleb Keolanui, Jordan Espinosa and Shea Alapai.
Grance also finished in second place of Peoria Men or Women play with his 62.4, a stroke better than Mariah Paiste who ended with a 65.2. Top golfer in the Perioa division went to Chris Cullen who carded a 56.6.
Brian Yamase finished a stroke ahead of Robert Abigania with a 65 to take the Men’s GHIN play, Abigania settling for the runner-up berth at 66.
Noel Shankar finished with a 67.6 to capture the 12th place price, and Kawika Parangan was Closest to the Hole at No. 3. Abigania was Closest to the Hole at No. 7, and Grance came closest at Hole No. 17.
More than 120 golfers teed off in the recent tournament which primarily generates funds for scholarships presented by the Kauai Chamber of Commerce.
