KBFD started its high definition broadcast, May 11 at 12:35 p.m. If you are watching KBFD without cable on channel 32.1, you will notice our HD signal. For Oceanic Cable and Hawaii Telcom viewers, KBFD HD will be on channel 1004 Oceanic Cable and 1006 on Hawaii Telcom in the coming weeks. HD channels on cable may require additional fees but you can still watch KBFD on channel 4 and 82 on Oceanic Cable and on Channel 6 on Hawaii Telcom with improved quality. Nearly all of our current programming is in HD and there will be a transition period where we will have HD programming mixed in with SD but eventually nearly all of our programming will be in HD. It has been many years in the planning as HD equipment is cost prohibitive and requires a big capital investment. We are happy to finally bring Korean programming to you in HD and thank you for your continued support.
