KPD invites public to community meetings

LIHUE – As part of an ongoing community outreach effort, Kauai Police Chief Darryl D. Perry and the Kauai Police Department will host a series of community outreach meetings.

Each meeting will include a presentation on the department’s budget, accreditation process, body-worn cameras, and islandwide crime trends. Following the presentations, attendees will have a chance to ask questions and share feedback.

“Maintaining an open dialogue with the community is one of our department’s highest priorities,” stated Chief Perry. “Public meetings create an additional opportunity for us to be transparent, and better understand the needs and concerns of the people we serve.”

Meetings schedule:

– 6 p.m. May 18 – Waimea Neighborhood Center

– 6 p.m. May 19 – Kilauea Neighborhood Center

– 7 p.m. May 27 – Kapaa Neighborhood Center

– 7 p.m. June 2 – Koloa Neighborhood Center

– 6 p.m. June 4 – Kalaheo Neighborhood Center

– 6 p.m. June 15 – Lihue Neighborhood Center

– 7 p.m. June 25 – Hanapepe Neighborhood Center
