HANAPEPE — A free workshop on buying a home on Kauai is scheduled 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hanapepe Library.
It is offered by the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center and Old Republic Title and Escrow.
“With recent the talk of median prices on Kauai being far out of reach for most Kauai residents, there is still hope for home ownership,” according to a press release. “Purchasing a home does not happen overnight. A lot of strategic planning is needed to prepare yourself for one of the biggest purchases of your life.”
Three steps toward home ownership include: Know where you are financially; get in touch with a real estate professional; and know the programs available to you, the release said.
“In this competitive market, you need to be prepared,” said Tim Mira of Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers.
There will also be home ownershp classes at the County Building-Piikoi Conference room on Friday and Saturday.
