Hawaii Children’s Theatre is accepting applications for the Ethan Shell Memorial Scholarship for Performing Arts.
Scholarships are open to students entering their first or second year of college with a performing arts major or minor. Kauai students who will be studying acting, music, dance, stagecraft or other areas of performing arts are invited to apply. Application deadline is April 15.
These scholarships for up to $1,000 are in memory of Ethan Bradford Shell, a young man who grew up on Kauai and participated in numerous HCT productions and programs. Ethan had graduated from college in New York City and was working in an off-Broadway play and as a model when he died from an undiagnosed heart condition in 2010 at the age of 21.
