1. Why are you running?
I want to help direct the right risk management questions as KIUC moves forward to have available 100 megawatts of power during catastrophic events and possible drastic climate change predicted around 2030.
2. What expertise and experience will you bring to the board?
I am a Certified Cooperative Directive and have served on the board in the past for three years.
3. What will you do to help KIUC meet its renewable energy goal?
I will study every proposal for renewable energy and provide input that mitigates any possible risk to achieve the goal of 50 percent by 2023. I believe that goal will be reached before 2023.
4. What do you see as the biggest challenge facing KIUC?
The biggest challenge is weather changes and abrupt climate changes that will occur during the next 15 years. Kauai will see higher temperatures and less rainfall which will increase Co2 levels that will ultimately destroy ocean coral. We must try to maintain the Co2 levels or at least help to slow the increase.
