Fire personnel responded to three separate brushfires in a 24-hour span this weekend. Each of the fires was extinguished without incident.
The first fire was reported in a field in Anahola at shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday and was extinguished shortly after 11:30 a.m. by personnel from the Kaiakea Fire Station.
The second fire was reported at another remote location in Anahola at 2:10 p.m. That blaze, which covered a 1/2 acre, was extinguished within three hours.
At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a brush fire was reported on a hillside on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway near the Lumahai Beach lookout in Haena. Responding firefighters extinguished the blaze at about 2 a.m.
The cause of the fires has not yet been determined.
