The giveaway takes place starting at 9 a.m. at the First Hawaiian Bank, Waimea and Eleele branches.
Seedlings include both the red and yellow, which are Granex Hybrids grown on the Kula mountains on Maui, known as “Maui sweet onions.”
Distribution will be done on a first come, first served basis, and people are encouraged to come early for their free packets, which will include about 50 of the plants.
