Breakfast to benefit college

PUHI — The 29th annual American Culinary Federation Breakfast is set for 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at Kauai Community College.

Chef Martina Hilldorfer described the breakfast as the biggest and best brunch on the island; there were more than 1,700 meals served up last year. It will also feature live entertainment.

Proceeds go toward scholarships and equipment used by the culinary arts department, Hilldorfer said.

On the menu are eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, Portuguese sausage, ham, rice, hash browns, omelets, pancakes, pastries, and assorted fruits. There also will be coffee and juice.

Tickets featuring early discounts are available at the Kalaheo Coffee House, the Kauai Coffee Visitor’s Center, the Koloa Fish Market, the Fish Express in Lihue, Sole Mates at the Coconut Marketplace, Pono Market in Kapaa, Mark’s Place and Contemporary Flavors Catering in Puhi, and at the KCC cafeteria. Tickets also will be available at the door.
