The Kauai North Shore Lions Club is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.
During each of the last 30 years, the North Shore Lions Club has awarded scholarships to students of Kauai’s North Shore to support and encourage continuing education for the youth of Kauai. Eligible students must attend full time an institution of higher learning and also have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
The applicant must live between Moloaa and Haena. Applications can be obtained at the Kapaa High School counselor’s office, www.kauainorthshorelions.org, or the KCC financial aid office and must be postmarked by March 31.
The program is made possible through the community’s support of the club’s fundraising efforts.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic performance, leadership, community involvement and volunteerism.
Last year, the North Shore Lions Club awarded more than $11,000 to help students with college expenses.
