Tech center focus of LBA meeting

LIHUE — Alan Tang, chairman, CEO and president of Olomana Loomis ISC, will be the guest speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the Lihue Business Association at Duke’s Canoe Club.

He will be discussing plans to develop a creative technology center on Kauai.

The center would include state-of-the-art digital media equipment, reliable high-speed broadband internet connection, video conferencing capabilities, flex-ible spaces for meeting, filming, screening and classes, and access for both professional productions and student/community use.

The idea for a tech center was included in the county’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Report.

The meeting runs 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and is open to the public.
