KPD asks for help locating runaways

LIHUE — The Kauai Police Department is asking for the public’s help with finding a brother and sister who reportedly ran away from their Lihue home.

Josiah Alvarez, 16, was last seen on Dec. 12. He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, tan complexion and medium build.

Josiah’s 15-year-old sister, Nikela Alvarez, was last seen on the morning of Dec. 30. She is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs roughly 140 pounds. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan complexion, and a large build.

Both minors are of Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, and Caucasian descent.

They are both believed to be staying on the island’s Westside.

Anyone with information about Josiah or Nikela Alvarez is asked to call KPD Dispatch at 241-1711 or the Investigative Services Bureau, 241-1696.
