HANAPEPE – The Department of Water scheduled a water outage for Hanapepe town from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to replace a hydrant and install a branch valve in the area.
During the shutdown, customers along Hanapepe Road between Hana and Kona roads will have no water or low pressure.
Affected customers are advised to take the following steps:
Store enough water to meet their needs during the outage.
Notify family, friends, and neighbors that may be affected by the outage.
Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the outage.
Drive with caution and allow extra driving time for you to reach to your destination safely.
After the connection is completed, and the water main is turned back on, it is possible that air may be mixed into the water. If this happens, the water will appear white or milky in color. The air in the water will dissipate after a while and should not be cause for alarm.
