PUHI — Blame it on the snow.
“Brad Johnson, the director of coaching for Scandia United, and the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club in Colorado, was snowed in,” said Kevin Devitt, the Kauai Soccer Club commissioner. “He was supposed to be here, but was snowed in and couldn’t get here.”
Johnson was supposed to lead the soccer clinic at the Grove Farm Park in Puhi starting Monday, but the weather delayed the camp.
“The kids come from a lot of the Kauai Soccer Association teams, but this is open to anyone who is interested,” Devitt said. “Because of Johnson’s delay in getting here, we’re also adding an extra day to make up for the inconvenience.”
The clinic, shortened to include some field drills and scrimmage among the players who showed up, will run today at the Grove Farm Park.
“We’ll take a break for Christmas,” Devitt said. “We’ll meet again on Monday and Tuesday in Puhi as extra days for the players.”
