LIHUE — A Kekaha man was identified as the victim who was killed in a three-car crash Saturday morning on Kaumualii Highway near Halfway Bridge.
Jonathan Renti Cruz, 56, was the driver of a Chevrolet sedan that collided with a Ford pickup truck that veered into his lane after its driver lost control, when it clipped a Ford Mustang’s front end while trying to pass it on the shoulder.
The pickup driver, Joseph Frye, 36, of Koloa was booked on charges of manslaughter, reckless endangering, attempted assault, reckless driving and criminal property damage. He was released pending investigation.
