KAPAA — That last call for fast-food before heading north is on hold as the Kapaa Burger King undergoes renovations.
Located at 1105 Kuhio Highway, the Kapaa Burger King closed its doors on Nov. 23. Renovations of the interior dining room are expected to last a few weeks. The store will open once the interior work is completed. Work on the exterior will then begin.
The Lihue Burger King at 4440 Kukui Grove is open.
The Kapaa Burger King is a franchise owned by Kazi Restaurants of Hawaii. The Honolulu-based company was founded in 1998 with Zubair Kazi as president, and owns more than 25 Burger King and KFC restaurants around Hawaii with $36.6 million in annual revenue.
The Kapaa Burger King renovation follows the $3 million rebuild of the nearby Waipoli McDonalds restaurant in August. The Lihue McDonalds was rebuilt in 2010.
