FHB food drive helps holidays

LIHUE — First Hawaiian Bank’s internal food drive was a success.

The total from Kauai FHB branches came in at 640 pounds.

The collection benefited the Kauai Independent Food Bank, whose Holiday Food and Fund Drive is in full swing with a goal of raising $40,000 and 40,000 pounds of food.

“There is a growing need for food,” said Kelvin Moniz, executive director for the Kauai Independent Food Bank.

People can donate at any Kauai fire station or at the Kauai Independent Food Bank facility in Nawiliwili through Dec. 31.
