Two suffer injuries in Wailua crash

WAILUA – Two people sustained non-life threatening injuries Friday night in a traffic crash on Kuamoo Road in Wailua Homesteads.

According to a preliminary report, the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was traveling west on Kuamoo Road about 6:30 p.m. near Opaekaa Falls when he crossed the centerline and struck a Lexus SUV.

The Lexus driver and her passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Kuamoo Road was closed at 6:51 p.m. to allow police to conduct their investigation and the tow truck company to remove the vehicles. The roadway was reopened at 7:45 p.m.
